Beaches of Adelaide

Adelaide has some of the best and most famous beaches of Australia. Most of these golden beaches, exceptionally sandy and clean, have the advantage of being situated near the city centre and provide easy accessibility to locals and visitors alike. These beaches are popular for sunbathing, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing and most importantly, relaxing.
To entertain the numerous visitors, all the beaches have facilities like cafes, bars, restaurants, water sports, game fishing and numerous seasonal partying opportunities and beach events.
Henley Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area and is located close to central Adelaide. The beach offers some of the best restaurants, cafes and bars and a superb view of the coastline. The Aldinga Beach, situated in the suburb of Glenelg, is a popular spot for sunbathing, sailing and scuba diving. Boomer Beach, situated in Port Elliot and another hotspot, attracts the most experienced surfers, who revel in the huge waves and strong tidal currents.
The major winter attraction of this beach is the sighting of humpback whales. Brighton Beach, located in Glenelg, is a comparatively quiet beach and is ideal for relaxing and sunbathing. Maslin Beach, also situated in Glenelg, has nude bathing facilities. It also has some excellent barbecue facilities and a play area for children.
The other important beaches in the area are Moana Beach (on the Adelaide Coast), Myponga Beach (near the Adelaide city centre), Parsons Beach (near Victor Harbour), Seacliff Beach (on the Adelaide Coast), Waitpinga Beach (near Victor Harbour) and West Beach (near central Adelaide and Adelaide airport).
All the beaches in Adelaide are within easy driving distance and attract tourists from all over the world. All of them provide excellent opportunities for people looking for adventure as well as people looking for some relaxation. For someone visiting the city, they have to be on the travel itinerary.
